About the Book

Ezekiel Skinner gets what he wants. How far will he go to keep control?

Ezekiel remains several steps ahead of everyone—from the Dragon Tasker to his myriad of troublesome allies. But when schemes unravel and corrupt partners threaten, the Director of Crimson must change the course of everything.

As the half-demon son of the Lord of the Abyss, few hold power over Dante. For the first time, someone from his past is ready to exploit him, his power, and connections. What do they want and what will they pay?

While Jean-Michel and Gabriel try to overcome their haunted pasts to understand who they are to one another, they find themselves thwarted at every turn. Someone doesn't want them to free the dragons from Crimson's blacklist.

Will they unravel the web of deception in time to protect everyone they care about? Or will they fall victim to the machinations that threaten to destroy them all?

Reader Reviews

Gabriel and Senias. Finally. You two are learning to talk to each other a little better these days. In Book 3 of their story, we are treated to many tricks. Not going to lie, there were times when I wanted to strangle the beloved Tasker for letting him be what the world wants of him, and yet, I understand why he wants to protect all of his squishy insides. Senias has a lot at risk for letting people into the most golden parts of his heart. Gabriel is likely who belongs there above anyone else in Senias’s past. Is he willing to give up the guise of Jean-Michel, which allowed him to protect his beloved Counselor Gabriel Kennedy for so long? Or is it that very guise which is causing them and their loved ones harm?

As I started into this book, I new from page one that I was going to go on a trip with these two, but all of the other characters involved? They make it a well iced cake. The coauthors behind these characters have plenty to keep them going for sure, so I have to give my applause to Rachel and Dawn for giving us a tale for the ages. A tale that literally binds and breaks realms, not just the hearts of us reading what the characters do in those realms. Trust me, this is not a “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” kind of situation anymore.

Right about the time when I thought this series could have wound down into a solid trilogy, I realize as a reader how much more Rachel and Dawn have in store for us in the upcoming additions to this world. It’s a sprawling universe, and whether you’ve picked up with the love stories of found families across eras and wars now, or if you decided to go back and enjoy it from the beginning? You are not going to be disappointed. I hear that book four is going to be smashing. Why not catch up?
